
"It seems like a decade since “new rave” got celebrated, rejected as a feeble media ploy, taken up again ironically by desperate journalists and finally put to bed. The glow sticks are now fading and in enters late of the pier- they use electronics, wear sparkly clothes (and on occasion make up) and god forbid make music that young lovers dance to, but are anything but old news.
Space in the woods is late of the pier’s first release on the WayOutWest label, and whilst the beginning is slow, synth based, it is purely for the sack of lulling you into a false sense of security, so precisely one minute into the song they can throw you into a frenzy of guitars and sharp lyrics, forcing even the best scenester standing posed on the dancefloor, to actually dance.
